The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has initiated a series of searches across 22 locations in six states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, in connection with a human-trafficking syndicate. The operation, conducted on November 28, 2024, is aimed at uncovering a network that lures Indian youth with promises of jobs abroad, only to force them into fake call centres involved in cyber fraud activities.
The case, originally filed by police in Gopalganj, Bihar, highlights the alarming rise in organized trafficking operations exploiting young individuals. Authorities believe the syndicate targets vulnerable people, sending them overseas under false pretenses and coercing them into participating in criminal activities. As the investigation continues, law enforcement agencies are working to dismantle the operation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This action comes as part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and cybercrime networks operating across the country.
