Oshiwara Police Arrest 25-Year-Old in Online Travel Booking Scam

Mumbai, India: The Oshiwara Police have arrested a 25-year-old fraudster, Akash Rupkumar Jadhvani, for duping travelers through a fake online booking scam. Jadhvani lured victims by advertising luxury villas, resorts, and hotels on social media and fraudulent websites, taking advance payments before disappearing.

The scam surfaced after a 40-year-old real estate broker lost ₹42,000 while booking a two-day stay in Lonavala. After sensing fraud, he reported the matter to the cyber helpline and later filed an FIR at Oshiwara Police Station. Investigations led to Jadhvani’s arrest in Pune.

Police revealed that Jadhvani had multiple fraud cases registered in Malabar Hill, LT Marg, and Vile Parle police stations. He frequently changed PG accommodations and bank accounts to avoid detection. The arrest was made under the supervision of Senior Inspector Mohan Patil and Police Inspector Prabhat Mankar, with the cyber team tracking him down.
