No Daytime Block on Western Railway Suburban Section This Sunday

Mumbai, 20th June 2025 — In a relief for Mumbai's suburban commuters, Western Railway has announced that there will be no daytime block on its suburban section on Sunday, 22nd June 2025. However, a night jumbo block is scheduled between Borivali and Bhayandar during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, i.e., 21st/22nd June 2025, to facilitate essential maintenance works.

According to a press release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the jumbo block is necessary to carry out maintenance of tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment. The block timings are as follows:

• Up fast line: 23:15 hrs to 02:45 hrs

• Down fast line: 00:45 hrs to 04:15 hrs

During this period, all fast line suburban trains will operate on slow lines between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali. As a result, several Up and Down local trains will be cancelled.

Commuters are advised to check with station authorities for detailed train cancellation and diversion information. The concerned Station Master's offices will have updated notices for public reference.

Western Railway has clarified that apart from this scheduled night maintenance work, no block will be implemented during the day on Sunday, 22nd June, ensuring a smooth travel experience for weekend commuters.
