PM Modi Sets Tone for Winter Session, Calls for Productive Debates

New Delhi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the strengthened public mandate for the government ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, urging members to focus on debate and discussion to uphold democratic traditions. Addressing the media on Monday, he reflected on the outcomes of recent elections, emphasizing that the people had expressed their aspirations and further bolstered the Lok Sabha mandate in several states.
PM Modi criticized attempts by some opposition members to disrupt parliamentary proceedings for political gains, lamenting the missed opportunities for new and young MPs to contribute. He called for a united effort to ensure productive sessions and encouraged parliamentarians to respect democratic principles. "This session is special as it coincides with the 75th year of our Constitution, an achievement rooted in thorough and detailed deliberations by its makers," the Prime Minister said.
As the Winter Session begins, the government is set to push key legislation, including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, while the Opposition is likely to address pressing issues such as the situation in Manipur and allegations surrounding industrialist Gautam Adani. PM Modi concluded by urging members to conduct themselves with dignity, ensuring that the legacy and pride of the Constitution are upheld.
