PM Modi to Launch Ayushman Bharat for Seniors

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the expansion of health coverage for all senior citizens aged 70 and above under the government's flagship Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana on Tuesday. In a post on social media, Modi announced that this historic moment will take place during the Ayurveda Day celebrations at 12:30 pm. This move will provide healthcare benefits to senior citizens who were previously not covered under the scheme. Those belonging to families already enrolled in AB PM-JAY will receive an additional top-up cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per year, while other senior citizens aged 70 and above will get a cover of Rs 5 lakh on a family basis.

This will greatly benefit the elderly population by ensuring access to quality healthcare and reducing financial burden on their families. The expansion of Ayushman Bharat is a step towards achieving the goal of universal health coverage for all citizens, regardless of their age or income.
