Delhi : Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has thanked President Vladimir Putin for the hospitality of Russia. Prime Minister Modi, who arrived in Kazan city of Russia to participate in the BRICS summit, called the event meaningful. During this visit of Prime Minister Modi, he also met the President of Russia. Bilateral meetings of high level delegations of both the countries were also held.
Prime Minister Modi wrote on Instagram, "The BRICS summit in Kazan was very fruitful. I got the opportunity to discuss various issues and meet various world leaders. I thank President Putin, the people of Russia and the government for their hospitality."
Indian Prime Minister Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan on Wednesday. Jinping has agreed in principle to the suggestions given to improve India-China relations during the meeting with Prime Minister Modi. Jinping said that India and China should maintain a strong strategic perception towards each other. This claim was made by China's news agency Xinhua in its report.
Prime Minister Modi held bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. Prime Minister Modi wrote on X that he had an excellent meeting with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. India's Ministry of External Affairs said in a post on X that Prime Minister Modi and Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress in India-Uzbekistan bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic, health, capacity building and digital technologies. Prime Minister Modi also met the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the BRICS summit. Prime Minister Modi said he was very happy to meet him.
