Road Collapses at Intersection in Japan, Truck Sinks Into the Hole
Tokyo, January 28 : A truck sank into a large hole that formed at an intersection in Yashio, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on Tuesday. One person was rescued in the incident. The police received an emergency call around 9:50 AM reporting that the ground at the intersection had suddenly collapsed, creating a hole approximately 10 meters wide and 6 meters deep. A truck passing by at the time fell into the hole.
According to Japan Today newspaper, the person who was rescued is in good condition and is able to speak comfortably. Local authorities have stated that a sewer system runs beneath the intersection, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the road collapse.
