Smooth Passage for Vehicles at Dahisar Toll Naka: Minister Pratap Sarnaik's New Directives

Dahisar, Mumbai: Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik visited the Dahisar toll naka on Thursday to assess and resolve ongoing traffic issues. Alongside Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sanjay Katkar, a traffic police officer, and toll contractors, Sarnaik took crucial steps to streamline the traffic flow at this busy checkpoint.

Currently, toll is levied only on heavy vehicles, and Sarnaik has directed contractors to free up more lanes for light vehicles. The main highway should have three lanes for heavy vehicles heading towards Mumbai and two lanes for vehicles coming from Mumbai. The remaining lanes should be cleared for light vehicles to ensure faster movement and avoid congestion.

To further aid in smooth traffic management, the minister emphasized the need for clear signage, with boards placed at both sides of the highway, indicating reserved lanes for 500 meters. This move aims to reduce the bottleneck caused by the improper distribution of lanes, which has led to long queues and traffic jams for ordinary vehicle owners.

With these changes, it is expected that the traffic at Dahisar Checkpoint will improve significantly, allowing quicker access for commuters and smoother passage for both heavy and light vehicles.
