Tailor Arrested for Molesting Iranian Woman in Mumbai

Colaba, Mumbai:  In a shocking incident in Colaba, a 22-year-old tailor was arrested on Friday for allegedly molesting a 58-year-old Iranian national. The accused, Noren Mohammed Khalid, a resident of Govandi, followed the victim to her friend's house, where she was staying, and reportedly molested her. In an attempt to prevent her escape, he allegedly locked the door from the outside.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, around 3:30 pm, when Khalid followed the victim to the house in Colaba. The victim, who had temporarily been staying with her friend, closed the door on the accused after he performed an obscene act. However, Khalid locked the door and remained outside.

A senior police officer stated that the victim's friend lodged a complaint on her behalf after the woman declined to register a case initially. CCTV footage from the scene helped identify the suspect, and authorities quickly apprehended him.

The accused, who has been living in Mumbai for the past four months, was booked for molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman. Investigations are ongoing to determine if Khalid targeted other women, including foreign nationals in the past.
