Tesla's Grand Entry: India's First Showroom to Open in Mumbai’s BKC

Mumbai, India: Tesla is set to make its much-anticipated debut in India with its first showroom at Maker Maxity in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, and another at Aerocity, Delhi. The Mumbai showroom, spanning over 3,000 square feet, comes with a hefty monthly rental of Rs. 35 lakh, making it one of the most expensive commercial leases in the automotive industry. The Delhi showroom, covering 4,000 square feet, will have a monthly rent of Rs. 25 lakh.
BKC, known as India’s most expensive commercial real estate hub, will provide Tesla with a prime location to showcase its electric vehicles. The showroom will also include dedicated car parking spaces. While the official rental agreement details remain undisclosed, sources confirm that the deal is among the largest in the Indian auto industry.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his US visit on February 13, where they discussed key topics like space, mobility, technology, and innovation. The discussions also focused on India-US collaboration in AI, space exploration, and sustainability.
