Three and a Half Crore Rupees Found in ATM Van in Nalasopara; Crime Branch Investigation Underway

Nalasopara:A shocking discovery was made on Thursday afternoon near the Nalasopara ST Depot, where an ATM van was found carrying a suspicious sum of three and a half crore rupees. The Crime Branch Unit 3 has seized the van and is investigating the source and purpose of the large sum of money.

The incident came to light around 3 PM, when the Crime Branch received information about an ATM van carrying a large amount of cash. The police team immediately seized the van and detained two individuals traveling with it. The duo claimed that the money was meant to refill ATMs, but discrepancies in the van's accounting raised suspicions. While the van reportedly contained three and a half crore rupees, only 40 lakh rupees could be accounted for, leading the authorities to question the remaining amount.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police, Avinash Ambure, arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation.

As the news spread, members of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, including its leaders, gathered at the police station, demanding a thorough inquiry. Party leader Umesh Naik expressed concerns over the suspicious nature of the incident. "It is believed that the van was carrying three and a half crore rupees, but only 40 lakh rupees match the records. We need a deep investigation into who brought the remaining cash and for what purpose," Naik said.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the truth behind the large, unexplained sum of money.
