Tragic Death of Pregnant Woman in Pune Sparks Hospital Negligence Allegations

Pune: In a heart-wrenching incident, a seven-month-pregnant woman, Tanisha Bhise, lost her life after allegedly being denied urgent medical treatment at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital due to financial constraints.

Tanisha, who was carrying twins, faced severe pregnancy complications. Her husband, Sushant Bhise, claimed the hospital demanded Rs 10 lakh for treatment but refused to admit her even after he offered Rs 2.5 lakh as an initial payment. The delay forced them to seek alternative medical care, but Tanisha succumbed to complications after delivery.

Maharashtra Legislative Council member Amit Gorkhe supported the family’s allegations, stating that despite intervention attempts, the hospital did not admit her in time. He vowed to raise the issue in the legislative session.

Meanwhile, the hospital's PRO, Ravi Palekar, denied the claims, stating that an internal inquiry is underway. Pune police have recorded statements, and further action will depend on the findings of the government’s medical committee.
