Two Accused Nabbed in UP for Deadly Jewellery Shop Heist in Thane

Thane, Maharashtra, and Koshimbi, Uttar Pradesh: In a breakthrough, two men were arrested in Uttar Pradesh for their involvement in a violent robbery at a jewellery shop in Shahapur, Thane district, Maharashtra, on December 21, 2024. The incident had led to the fatal shooting of a salesman.
The accused, identified as Sashank alias Sonu Balram Mishra (32) and Tousif Alam Kabiruddin Siddiqui (35), were tracked down in Koshimbi, UP, by the state police’s special task force. Acting on leads from CCTV footage, technical inputs, and intelligence, a multi-team effort involving Thane district’s local crime branch, various police stations, and the Cybercell led to the arrests.
The attack occurred around 9 PM, when two motorcycle-borne men entered the jewellery shop, opened fire, and fled with a bag of valuables, leaving one salesman fatally wounded. Authorities have registered a case under sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including murder and armed robbery.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the third accused, Ankit alias Sintu Yadav, who remains at large.
