November 2024: In a tragic incident, a 36-year-old man from Ulhasnagar was arrested for the alleged murder of his three-year-old niece. The girl’s half-burnt body was discovered on November 21 behind the Hill Line police station.
The accused, under the influence of alcohol, claimed the child died accidentally when she hit her head on a marble floor during play. Panicked, he tried to destroy evidence by burning the body. The girl had been reported missing on November 18, leading to a kidnapping case. The uncle initially joined the search for her but raised suspicions when he suggested looking near the spot where the body was eventually found.
After inconsistent responses and analysis of call records, the man confessed. A post-mortem confirmed the absence of sexual assault. Police teams, led by DCP Sachin Gore, solved the case within days, bringing relief to the grief-stricken family.
This incident has shaken the Prem Nagar community, highlighting the need for vigilance and support for grieving families in such trying times.
