Vande Bharat Express to Halt at Shegaon, Inauguration Set for August 10

Mumbai/Nagpur: In a major boost for devotees and rail passengers in Vidarbha, the Pune-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express will now have a scheduled halt at Shegaon, the renowned pilgrimage town in Buldhana district. The Indian Railways has officially issued a circular regarding the addition of this stop. The inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express on this route is scheduled for August 10.

This decision comes after consistent efforts by Union Minister of State for Ayush and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, who held discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, emphasizing the spiritual and logistical significance of Shegaon.

Shegaon, often referred to as the Pandhari (Pandharpur) of Vidarbha, attracts thousands of devotees from across the country who visit the holy Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan. Minister Jadhav highlighted this religious importance to the Railway Ministry, urging the inclusion of a halt in Shegaon for the newly launched Vande Bharat Express. The request was accepted, and the stop has now been officially added.

The Vande Bharat Express, a symbol of India's self-reliant railway development, offers high-speed, modern travel. Connecting two major cities—Nagpur and Pune—the train will cover the 884 km journey in just 10 hours, providing a significant upgrade in speed and comfort for passengers.
