Water Woes in Mumbai: Major Leak Disrupts Supply in Key Pockets

Mumbai,Maharashtra: Mumbai residents are grappling with water shortages as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) undertakes urgent repairs on the Tansa pipeline following a significant leak. The disruption, caused by a burst in the Tansa West pipeline near the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road Bridge, has affected crucial areas such as Powai, Dharavi, S ward (Bhandup), K-east ward (Andheri East), G-North ward (Dadar, Matunga, Mahim), and H-East ward (parts of Santacruz, Khar, Bandra).
As per BMC officials, water supply has been suspended to these regions while repair works are underway. The BMC anticipates that services will resume within 24 hours. In the meantime, residents are urged to use water judiciously and conserve supplies.
This leak in one of Mumbai’s major water arteries has left several pockets struggling, with many households facing water scarcity until the repairs are completed.
