West Indies to begin 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle against Australia in Test series

New Delhi, 6th February : The West Indies men's cricket team will begin their 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle with a three-match Test series against Australia for the Frank Worrell Trophy. This series will be played from June 25 to July 16. Under the coaching of Darren Sammy, this will be the West Indies' first Test assignment, with Sammy replacing Andre Coley as the red-ball coach.

The first Test of the series will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, the second at the Grenada National Stadium, and the final Test at Sabina Park in Jamaica. After the Test series, both teams will also play five T20 matches.

End of the home season against Pakistan

The West Indies will conclude their home summer with a series against Pakistan, comprising three T20 and three ODI matches, from July 31 to August 12. The T20 series will be held at the Broward County Stadium in Florida, while the ODIs will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

Foreign tours to India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand

After that, the West Indies will tour India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand from September 21 to December 23. In Bangladesh, the team will play three ODIs and three T20s, while the New Zealand tour will consist of three Tests, three ODIs, and five T20 matches.

England and Ireland tours for 2027 World Cup preparation

After failing to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup, the West Indies will prepare for the 2027 World Cup with tours to Ireland and England, where they will play three ODIs and three T20 matches in each country. The matches in Ireland will be held from May 21 to 25 at Malahide, while the ODI matches in England will take place on May 29, June 1, and June 3 at Headingley, Cardiff, and The Oval. Afterward, the team will return to Belfast for three T20 matches, completing their UK tour on June 15.

West Indies Women’s Team 2025 Campaign

The West Indies women’s team will begin their 2025 campaign with the World Cup qualifiers in Pakistan, which will take place from April 4 to 19. Six teams will compete for two spots in the Women's World Cup to be held in India in August-September.

After that, the team will tour England from May 21 to June 8, where they will play three T20s and three ODIs. Then, the West Indies women will face South Africa in a series of three ODIs and three T20s at home, with all matches being hosted at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The busy cricket schedules of both the West Indies men's and women's teams indicate that they are leaving no stone unturned in preparing for upcoming major tournaments.
