YesMadam Denies Firing Employees Over Stress, Clarifies Viral Email Controversy

India: At-home beauty services startup YesMadam has issued a statement denying claims that it laid off employees due to stress, following a viral email that sparked social media speculation. The email, which was allegedly shared by a YesMadam employee, suggested that around 100 workers were dismissed after expressing stress in an internal survey.

In response to the controversy, the company posted a three-page statement on LinkedIn, apologizing for the distress caused by the email and clarifying that no one had been fired. “No one was fired at YesMadam! Let us be clear: We would never take such an inhuman step,” the company stated. It explained that the email was part of a campaign aimed at raising awareness about workplace stress.

YesMadam emphasized that employees were not let go but were offered a break to reset, rest, and recharge. The company reiterated its commitment to supporting its employees’ well-being.
