12-Hour Water Cut in Thane on May 21 Due to Maintenance Work: TMC Urges Residents to Store Water in Advance

Thane, May 20: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a 12-hour water cut across several areas on Wednesday, May 21, due to essential repair and maintenance work at the Pise water purification centre and a high-pressure substation. The water supply will be completely shut from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The affected areas include Ghodbunder Road, Vartak Nagar, Ritu Park, Jail, Gandhi Nagar, Rustamji, Siddhanchal, Samata Nagar, Internity, Johnson, and some parts of Kalwa.
TMC officials stated that this shutdown is necessary for pre-monsoon maintenance, which involves repairs to the control panel, transformer oil filtration, and upgrades to the Temghar purification centre and other connected infrastructure.
Following the completion of the 12-hour work, water pressure is likely to remain low for the following one to two days, the civic body warned.
TMC has appealed to residents of the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and extend cooperation to the municipal team during this period of essential maintenance.
Residents are advised to take precautionary steps to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled downtime.
