19-Year-Old Dies in Grinder Accident at Worli Food Stall; Owner Booked

Mumbai, Worli: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 19-year-old worker, Suraj Narayan Yadav, at a roadside Chinese food stall in Adarsh Nagar, Worli, on December 14. Yadav, who hailed from Jharkhand, had been working at the stall owned by Sachin Kothekar (32) for the past three to four months.
According to the Dadar police, Yadav was operating a grinder machine used for food preparation when the hem of his shirt got caught in the machine, pulling him in. Initial investigations revealed that Yadav lacked experience and technical knowledge for operating such machinery. Police reports further stated that Kothekar assigned him the task without proper training or safety measures.
An FIR has been registered against Kothekar for negligence leading to the fatal incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
