Man Arrested for Flashing at Woman in Public; Viral Video Leads to His Capture

Mumbai, Maharashtra: A 27-year-old man from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by Gamdevi police for allegedly flashing at a 20-year-old woman in a shared taxi, an incident that was caught on video and widely circulated on social media. The accused, identified as Dindayal Motiram Singh, was apprehended in his hometown following a swift investigation.
The incident occurred on November 30, 2024, when the woman was traveling from Kambala Hill to Grant Road Railway Station. Singh, who had been following her, allegedly committed the obscene act, leaving the victim deeply distressed. The case came to light on December 11, when a friend of the victim posted the video online.
Senior police officials launched an immediate investigation after the video went viral. “With the help of technical analysis and extensive CCTV footage, we tracked the accused to his native village in Agra and brought him to Mumbai for prosecution,” said Mohit Garg, DCP, Zone 02.
Singh, a snack vendor residing in Mumbai's Sion Koliwada for the past decade, was apprehended after a Gamdevi police team traveled to Agra. He was presented before the court today, as the investigation continues.
