Mumbai Police Arrest Two for Threatening to Bomb Eknath Shinde’s Car

Mumbai, India: The Mumbai Police have arrested two individuals from Buldhana for allegedly sending an email threatening to bomb the car of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The threatening message, written in Marathi, was received by Goregaon and J J Marg police stations on February 20, prompting an immediate security response.

Following a swift investigation, a joint operation by the Mumbai Crime Branch and Buldhana Police led to the arrest of Mangesh Achyutrao Wayal (35) and Abhay Gajanan Shingane (22), both residents of Deulgaon Mahi, Taluka Deulgaon Raja, Buldhana district.

An FIR was registered under sections 351(3), 351(4), and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), dealing with criminal intimidation and obstruction of public servants. Authorities are now investigating whether similar emails were sent to multiple recipients.

“A mail threatening to bomb the car of DCM Eknath Shinde was received. Further inquiry is underway,” said DCP (Zone 1) Pravin Mundhe. Security has been tightened as investigations continue.
