24-Year-Old Driver Dies in Concrete Mixer Truck Accident at Metro Rail Site in Kashimira

Mira Bhayandar, December 6 – A tragic accident occurred at the ongoing Metro Rail construction site in Kashimira on Wednesday night, when a concrete mixer truck fell into a pit after a section of the road suddenly caved in. The driver, identified as Ashish Gyandas Kumar (24), died on the spot after being crushed under the overturned truck.
The incident took place near Hotel Amar Palace, adjacent to the highway, around 10 pm. Police reported that the driver was reversing the truck to unload ready-mix concrete between two pillars when the road collapsed beneath the vehicle.
Two other individuals who were present at the site narrowly escaped with minor injuries. Fire brigade personnel had to deploy three cranes to retrieve the truck from the pit.
An offence has been registered against the site engineer of the contractor company, J. Kumar, under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 125 (endangering life) of the Indian Penal Code.
