5-Year-Old Trapped in Rajasthan Borewell for 3 Days, Rescue Efforts Intensify

Dausa, Rajasthan: Rescue operations continue in full swing to save Aryan, a five-year-old boy trapped in a 150-feet-deep borewell in Kalikhad village since December 9. Authorities have deployed a piling rig machine to dig a parallel tunnel, while efforts using ropes and other equipment to retrieve the child have so far been unsuccessful.

Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Civil Defence are on-site, supported by local authorities using earthmovers and tractors. Oxygen is being supplied through a pipe to ensure the child's stability, while his condition is monitored via a camera.

Despite the ongoing challenges, including plunging temperatures of 8°C, a tunnel has been dug to a depth of 70 feet. Earlier attempts using the "umbrella technique," previously employed during a similar Uttarkashi operation, did not yield success.

Rajasthan BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena, who visited the site, stressed the need for stricter laws to mandate covering borewells, citing frequent incidents across the country.

This rescue operation mirrors a similar incident in September, where a two-year-old girl was successfully rescued from a 35-foot borewell in Dausa after 18 hours of effort.

Authorities remain optimistic as they work tirelessly to bring Aryan to safety.
