Bakri Eid 2025: Thane Police Issues Traffic Advisory for Kalyan; Alternate Routes Announced for June 7–8 Due to Durgadi Fort Gathering

Thane: In anticipation of large gatherings during Bakri Eid 2025, the Thane City Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory for the Kalyan sub-division, effective on June 7 and 8, depending on the sighting of the moon. The advisory aims to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety, especially around the Durgadi Fort area, where both Eid prayers at the Durgadi Eidgah and a bell-ringing ceremony at the Durga Mata Temple are expected to attract large crowds.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pankaj Shirsat, has announced traffic diversions, entry restrictions, and alternate routes for different parts of Kalyan city to prevent congestion and maintain law and order during the festival.

⚠️ Entry Restrictions and Alternate Routes

Route: Lalchowki (Kalyan) to Bhiwandi

Status: Entry Closed at Lalchowki

Alternate Route: Take a right turn from Lalchowki, then proceed via Adarwadi Chowk and Wadeghar Circle.

Route: Bhiwandi to Kalyan via Agra Road / Govindwadi Bypass

Status: Entry Closed at Durgamata Chowk

Alternate Route: Take a left turn from Durgamata Chowk, then proceed via Wadeghar Circle and Adarwadi Chowk.

Route: Kalyan (East) Kolsewadi to Durgamata Chowk via Govindwadi Bypass

Status: Entry Closed at Patripool

Alternate Route: Take a right turn from Patripool, then go through Shivaji Chowk → Lalchowki → Adarwadi Chowk.

Route: Multi-axle, heavy vehicles, trailers

Status: Entry completely restricted through Durgadi Chowk, Govindwadi Bypass, Patripool and Shivaji Chowk routes

Duration: Restrictions will remain in effect all day and night on Bakri Eid (June 7 or 8)

Emergency Services Exempted

The traffic advisory does not apply to emergency vehicles including ambulances, fire brigades, and police vehicles, ensuring uninterrupted response during emergencies.
