West Bengal Records 58 New COVID-19 Cases, 91 Recoveries in 24 Hours; Active Cases Drop to 596

Kolkata: West Bengal reported 58 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. At the same time, 91 patients recovered, bringing the total number of active cases down to 596 across the state.
The death toll remained unchanged at one, offering some relief amidst concerns of a possible resurgence of infections.
Health authorities have assured that the COVID-19 situation in the state remains under control. “There is nothing to worry about as of now. However, we urge people to follow all health protocols, including mask usage and social distancing wherever necessary,” said a senior health department official.
While the numbers remain low compared to previous waves, health experts continue to monitor the situation closely, especially in urban pockets where testing and mobility are higher.
Though there has been no significant spike, the Health Ministry emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, vaccination, and timely reporting of symptoms to prevent the spread of infection.
The government also continues its routine testing and vaccination drives, urging people, especially the elderly and immunocompromised, to stay updated with booster doses if eligible.
