Bhayandar: Unauthorized Dargah on Uttan Seafront to be Demolished; Revenue Minister Issues Orders

Bhayandar: On the western side of Bhayandar, in the Uttan village area, a mangrove forest near the seafront was destroyed to build an unauthorized dargah. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has instructed the authorities to demolish the dargah that was built without permission. The area of Uttan village near the seafront, located west of Bhayandar, had its mangroves cut down to build the dargah. This construction was done unauthorized, without any formal permission.
Concerns regarding the potentially dangerous nature of the dargah for national security were raised last year by Ravi Vyas, the BJP's Legislative Assembly Election President and former District President. He filed complaints to then-Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Thane District Collector, Police Commissioner, and the Municipal Commissioner. Subsequently, the Additional Tehsildar, Nilesh Gond, issued a notice to the dargah committee, instructing them to demolish the unauthorized construction. However, no action was taken on this matter.
Recently, during a session in the Legislative Assembly, MLA Niranjan Dawkhere also raised the issue of the dargah. In response to this, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that the unauthorized dargah, constructed over 1,290 square meters of land, will be demolished. He also directed the authorities to ensure that the demolition is completed before May 20.
