Call Centre Feud Escalates to Extortion with Semi-Nude Video and Assault

Andheri West, Malvani, Malad: The Malvani police arrested Agnel Gomes and Aditya Badekar on Friday for allegedly extorting lakhs from a 27-year-old ex-colleague in a shocking blackmail plot.

The victim, who worked alongside Gomes at a call centre in Andheri West, faced harassment from Gomes, leading him to file a complaint with their seniors. This resulted in both losing their jobs. Seeking revenge, Gomes and Badekar forced the man into filming a semi-nude video and staged another video portraying him as a drug dealer, handing him a cannabis packet for effect.

The duo intercepted the man on Thursday night in Malad, assaulted him, and threatened to release the compromising footage unless he paid a hefty sum. After extorting an undisclosed amount, they abandoned him near his residence.

The swift action by Malvani police led to the arrest of both accused, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
