Courage in Dongri: Mother-Son Duo Foil Knife-Wielding Robber

Dongri, Mumbai: A daring robbery attempt in the Makhi Manzil building on Chawl Gali, Dongri, was thwarted by a brave 32-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son on Thursday around 11 a.m. The incident left the duo with minor injuries but demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of danger.

The drama unfolded when a masked man wearing a monkey cap knocked on the family’s eighth-floor apartment door. Upon opening, the robber pushed the woman inside, locking the door, and brandishing a knife to intimidate her into silence.

Unwilling to back down, the woman

and her son sprang into action. In the ensuing struggle, the thief slashed the woman’s hand and grazed the boy’s shoulder with the knife. Despite their injuries, the mother managed to open the door and shout for help, while the boy attempted to unmask the attacker, pulling off his monkey cap. Fearing exposure, the thief fled the scene.

Both were treated for minor injuries at Sir JJ Hospital. Dongri police have registered a case under the relevant sections and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
