Doctor Registers ₹3.49 Lakh Gold Theft Case Against Household Worker in Vikhroli

Vikhroli, Mumbai: A theft case involving gold ornaments worth ₹3.49 lakh has been registered by a 27-year-old doctor, Dr. Nikhil Sunil Pillai, at the Park Site Police Station in Vikhroli (West). The theft allegedly occurred on December 13, at Dr. Pillai's residence in Godrej Hillside Colony.
According to reports, the family hired the accused, identified as Geeta Vishram Gadge, through the domestic help portal kaamwalibais.com earlier this month. Geeta was tasked with caregiving for the doctor's grandmother and cleaning.
The incident came to light when Dr. Pillai noticed his gold bracelet missing upon his return home late that evening. Further investigation revealed other valuables missing from the family’s locker, including two gold bracelets, two gold necklaces, and gold earrings.
The family suspects Geeta Gadge, who was the only person present at home with the grandmother during the reported timeframe of the theft, between 6:20 PM and 6:45 PM. An FIR has been registered under Section 305(a) of the BNS Act.
The Park Site Police have launched an investigation into the case.
