Thane, Maharashtra: In a life-saving midnight operation, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) emergency team and Kasarwadavli police in Maharashtra successfully thwarted a suicide attempt by an elderly couple in Thane's Waghbil area on Wednesday night.

The couple, aged 70 and 65, had reportedly been battling ongoing health challenges and had resolved to end their lives. They informed their nephew via an SMS, prompting him to immediately notify the police.

Finding it locked, rescue personnel skillfully accessed the flat through a neighboring window. Within ten minutes, the team had safely intervened, saving the couple's lives.

Officials also provided immediate counseling, encouraging the couple to reconsider their actions and seek help for their struggles.
