Family of Hospitalized Indian Student Neelam Shinde Granted Urgent U.S. Visa

Satara, Maharashtra: The U.S. Embassy has granted urgent visas to the family of Neelam Shinde, an Indian student from Maharashtra's Satara, who remains in a coma after a road accident in California on February 14.

Neelam suffered severe head, hand, and chest injuries and has been receiving treatment at a hospital in the U.S. Her father, Tanhaji Shinde, confirmed that the family will travel to the U.S. on Saturday to be by her side.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) acted swiftly after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule raised the issue on social media. “Both the Central and Maharashtra government helped us a lot. I just hope my daughter recovers soon,” said Tanhaji Shinde.
