Flyovers in Mira-Bhayandar to be Named After Great Men: Pratap Sarnaik Requests

Mira-Bhayandar: With the growing population and the increasing number of vehicles, leading to traffic congestion, the state government has been allocating various development funds for the construction of new flyovers in the city to ensure smoother traffic flow. As part of this initiative, the government is constructing three new flyovers along Metro Line 9 in Mira-Bhayandar.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has requested Deputy Chief Minister and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Chairman, Eknath Shinde, to name these flyovers after notable figures in history. Sarnaik suggested that the flyovers be named "Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Elevated Road," "Late Ratanji Tata Elevated Road," and "Late Gopinath Munde Elevated Road" in honor of these great leaders.
In response, Eknath Shinde immediately directed the MMRDA commissioner to take action and implement the naming proposal. Mira-Bhayandar, a newly developing city on the outskirts of Mumbai, currently has a population of around 14 lakh. With the rapid growth of the population and the corresponding increase in vehicle numbers, traffic jams have become a major concern. The construction of new flyovers is part of the ongoing efforts to streamline traffic in this urban area, funded through various government development schemes.
Flyovers to be Named After Revered Personalities:
The three flyovers will be located at the following spots:
- From Pleasant Park Signal to Silver Park Signal – to be named "Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Elevated Road."
- From S.K. Stone Signal to Shivaar Udyan Signal – to be named "Late Ratanji Tata Elevated Road."
- From Shivaar Udyan Signal to Golden Nest Circle – to be named "Late Gopinath Munde Elevated Road."
These names were proposed by various social organizations, citizens, and NGOs in the city. Following these suggestions, Minister Sarnaik formally requested Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to honor these great figures with the naming of the upcoming flyovers.
