GOLD futures drops by 0.1% and SILVER futures drops by 0.66%, while CRUDEOIL futures drops by 1.39%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.69815.53 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, November 8, 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11686.82 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 58126.61 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Nov-24 futures was reached at 19160 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7289.77 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.1% to Rs. 77332 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Nov-24 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs. 62800 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 7766 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.11% to Rs. 77300 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.66% to Rs. 91705 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.59% to Rs. 91565 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.56% to Rs. 91586 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2991.76 crores with volume of 3866 lots and OI of 15321 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2086.76 crores with volume of 7549 lots and OI of 29542 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2946.62 crores. COPPER Nov-24 contract was down by 1.35% to Rs. 838.45 per kg and ZINC Nov-24 contract was down by 1.72% to Rs. 280.05 per kg while ALUMINIUM Nov-24 contract was down by 1.96% to Rs. 242.05 per kg and LEAD Nov-24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs. 181.9 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1706.34 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 341.23 crores, Lead futures Rs. 18.99 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 569.11 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1444.21 crores. CRUDEOIL Nov-24 contract was down by 1.39% to Rs. 6044 per BBL while NATURALGAS Nov-24 contract was up by 1.77% to Rs. 230.6 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 543.15 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 696.00 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 910 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 56900 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 58126.61 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 912.7 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 26.61% to Rs. 151.10 with volume of 77221 lots & OI of 15355 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 32.6% to Rs. 109 with volume of 98054 lots & OI of 16727 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.230 was up by 14.14% to Rs. 11.30 with volume of 14264 lots & OI of 7291 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.230 was down by 15.41% to Rs. 11.25 with volume of 9374 lots & OI of 5034 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 9.31% to Rs. 584.50 with volume of 1250 lots & OI of 650 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 5.03% to Rs. 340 with volume of 1653 lots & OI of 1019 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 22.66% to Rs. 909.50 with volume of 1057 lots & OI of 1363 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 11.04% to Rs. 1222 with volume of 1054 lots & OI of 1321 lots.
