India's PSLV C60 Rocket Launches Historic Space Docking Demonstration

Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh: India successfully launched the PSLV C60 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, on its SpaDeX mission. The mission marks a significant step in demonstrating cost-effective space docking technology, aimed at furthering space exploration goals.
Around 15 minutes after liftoff, two small spacecraft – SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target) – weighing 220 kg each, were placed into a 475km circular orbit. This ambitious mission serves as a proof of concept for in-space docking technology, a crucial component for future space endeavors that require multiple rocket launches to accomplish common objectives.
With this milestone, India continues to advance its space program, paving the way for future interlinked missions in orbit.
