Late-Night Accident on Mulund-Goregaon Link Road Claims Life of 34-Year-Old Woman

Mumbai : A tragic late-night accident near Fortis Hospital on the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road claimed the life of 34-year-old Amruta Vishal Poonamia. The incident occurred around 11:00 pm when Amruta, along with her husband Vishal and their two-year-old daughter, Hazel, were traveling on a two-wheeler.
According to police reports, the family was en route to a gathering in Tambe Nagar, Mulund West, when their vehicle was struck by an unidentified truck. Amruta, who was riding pillion, was thrown onto the road due to the force of the collision and was tragically run over by the truck's rear wheel.
Both Vishal and Hazel were fortunate to escape unscathed, with no major injuries reported. The accident has left the family devastated and raised concerns over road safety in the area.
The Mulund police have filed a case against the unidentified truck driver, who fled the scene after the collision. Authorities have pointed out that the absence of CCTV cameras at the accident site has hampered their efforts to trace the vehicle and its driver, making it more challenging to bring the responsible party to justice.
Local residents and commuters have raised alarms about the lack of surveillance in key areas of the road, urging authorities to install cameras and improve safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
The tragic incident has sparked an outpouring of sympathy for the grieving family, while raising concerns about the safety of two-wheeler riders and pedestrians in Mumbai's busy traffic corridors. Authorities are continuing their search for the truck driver, and investigations are ongoing.
