The earthquake occurred at 6:10 am IST at a depth of 91 kilometers. The NCS provided the coordinates of the earthquake’s epicenter as latitude 19.52 N and longitude 88.55 E. It was confirmed that the tremors originated in the Bay of Bengal, a significant body of water located off the coast of eastern India.

While there have been no immediate reports of major damage or casualties, local authorities have been alerted and are monitoring the situation closely. The tremors were felt in parts of Odisha, but there have been no reports of any damage in Puri or the surrounding areas as of now.
