Mahavikas Aghadi Faces Potential Rift as Kapil Patil Considers Parting Ways

Mumbai, : As the state gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections, the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance might be on the brink of a potential rift. Former MLA and President of the Samajwadi Ganarajya Party, Kapil Patil, is reportedly considering leaving the alliance. Notably, Patil was absent from the MVA meeting held in Mumbai yesterday, further fueling speculation about his growing distance from the coalition.

In recent days, the rift between Kapil Patil and the Mahavikas Aghadi has become more apparent. The situation seems to have escalated following a meeting between Raj Thackeray and Kapil Patil, which has confirmed the growing dissatisfaction.

The discord reportedly began during the Mumbai Teachers' Constituency election, where the Thackeray faction fielded a candidate against Kapil Patil’s nominee. The Thackeray faction's candidate won, leading to the defeat of Patil's candidate. Since then, Kapil Patil has been increasingly disillusioned with the MVA.

As the Assembly elections approach, this potential defection could pose significant challenges for the Mahavikas Aghadi, raising questions about the alliance's cohesion and electoral strategy.
