Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu Pays Tribute at Rajghat During First Bilateral Visit to India

New Delhi:President of the Maldives, Mohammad Muizzu, visited Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, this morning to pay floral tributes. His wife, Sajida Mohammad, was also present during the visit. Earlier this morning, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him at the Presidential Palace.

President Muizzu arrived in India on Sunday for a bilateral visit, and he first met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Jaishankar expressed confidence that Muizzu's talks with Prime Minister Modi would further enhance friendly relations. It is worth noting that Muizzu attended Modi's oath-taking ceremony in June. This is his first bilateral visit to India. Muizzu is also scheduled to visit Mumbai and Bengaluru.
