MCX records turnover of Rs.11675.7 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.45768.69 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.57445.5 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 18 November 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11675.7 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 45768.69 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Nov-24 futures was reached at 18543 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7906.99 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.96% to Rs. 74656 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Nov-24 contract was up by 0.42% to Rs. 60620 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.62% to Rs. 7581 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Dec-24 contract was up by 0.91% to Rs. 74635 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 1.05% to Rs. 89350 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.96% to Rs. 89115 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.96% to Rs. 89105 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3762.45 crores with volume of 5035 lots and OI of 16574 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1961.96 crores with volume of 7280 lots and OI of 32412 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2053.99 crores. COPPER Nov-24 contract was up by 0.06% to Rs. 795.65 per kg and ZINC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.38% to Rs. 275.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM Nov-24 contract was down by 1.26% to Rs. 239.6 per kg and LEAD Nov-24 contract was down by 0.28% to Rs. 178.15 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1022.28 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 333.81 crores, Lead futures Rs. 47.44 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 401.74 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1705.88 crores. CRUDEOIL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 5692 per BBL while NATURALGAS Nov-24 contract was up by 2.4% to Rs. 243.2 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 549.36 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 930.03 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 929 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.91% to Rs. 54400 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 45768.69 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 833.99 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was up by 6.41% to Rs. 220.80 with volume of 40955 lots & OI of 11078 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was down by 7.55% to Rs. 216.8 with volume of 33821 lots & OI of 7280 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.250 was up by 42.31% to Rs. 5.55 with volume of 30510 lots & OI of 10811 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was down by 30.93% to Rs. 6.7 with volume of 31283 lots & OI of 9694 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was up by 69.5% to Rs. 458.50 with volume of 2293 lots & OI of 1069 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was down by 44% to Rs. 350 with volume of 2292 lots & OI of 1874 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 43.49% to Rs. 1130.00 with volume of 1887 lots & OI of 1451 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was down by 25.66% to Rs. 1272 with volume of 1639 lots & OI of 445 lots.
