MCX records turnover of Rs.15745.82 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.88647.14 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.104395.1 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 12 November 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 15745.82 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 88647.14 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Nov-24 futures was reached at 18571 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 11814.08 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.79% to Rs. 74753 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Nov-24 contract was down by 1.13% to Rs. 60780 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Nov-24 contract was down by 1.26% to Rs. 7573 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.8% to Rs. 74779 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.68% to Rs. 88574 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.69% to Rs. 88480 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.69% to Rs. 88462 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5450.77 crores with volume of 7260 lots and OI of 15675 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3165.47 crores with volume of 11838 lots and OI of 32801 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2279.51 crores. COPPER Nov-24 contract was down by 1.96% to Rs. 805.2 per kg and ZINC Nov-24 contract was down by 1.6% to Rs. 274.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.82% to Rs. 236.5 per kg and LEAD Nov-24 contract was down by 0.28% to Rs. 180.7 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1432.65 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 166.21 crores, Lead futures Rs. 28.77 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 461.42 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1669.16 crores. CRUDEOIL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.61% to Rs. 5797 per BBL while NATURALGAS Nov-24 contract was down by 0.81% to Rs. 245.8 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 554.52 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 887.04 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Nov-24 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 912 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.64% to Rs. 55600 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 88647.14 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1020.44 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 11.9% to Rs. 86.50 with volume of 122868 lots & OI of 22123 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was down by 23.43% to Rs. 48.7 with volume of 105141 lots & OI of 12648 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.250 was down by 15.74% to Rs. 9.10 with volume of 16779 lots & OI of 8920 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.250 was up by 3.45% to Rs. 13.5 with volume of 14192 lots & OI of 4341 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 31.28% to Rs. 284.50 with volume of 3423 lots & OI of 1043 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was up by 105.17% to Rs. 397 with volume of 2534 lots & OI of 2144 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 12.88% to Rs. 1089.00 with volume of 3205 lots & OI of 1321 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.89000 was up by 24.94% to Rs. 1863.5 with volume of 1204 lots & OI of 191 lots.
