MMRDA to correspond with Airport Authority to increase height of Metro 2B Girder

MMRDA officer assured that MMRDA will correspond with the airport authority to increase the height of Metro 2B girder and take appropriate action to provide relief to the citizens. A meeting of the BMC, MMRDA, Kurla Police and local citizens was organized in Kurla L division.

The girder height of Metro 2B is currently 3.50 meters at Halav Bridge. This route is used for transportation during Ganeshotsav and Navratri festival. Therefore, an indirect obstacle has arisen to take the idols of Ganpati and Devi from here. RTI activist Anil Galgali raised the issue that this time would not have come if the route of Metro 2B had not been changed. If citizens' complaints and objections are sought while changing the route, the information should be given. The permission of 3.50 meters height is 2017 and MMRDA should once again request the airport authority to increase the height to 5.50 meters. Due to this, Metro Rail will not have to worry about safety in future. Umesh Gaikwad vehemently opposed the change of route, alluding to the changing geographical situation of Kurlya and demanded a change in the mentality of taking Kurlya citizens for granted every time. At the end of the discussion, Municipal Officer Jeevan Rathod instructed the MMRDA officials about all the demands, while MMRDA Officer Dhotre promised to discuss at a senior level to correspond with the MMRDA Airport Authority to increase the height of the Metro 2B girder.

Senior Police Inspector of Kurla Police Station Ashok Khot, Bmc Officer Nitin Deshmukh, Sagar Patil, Sunil Patil, Ajay Shukla, Kamlakar Bane, Vijay Mandre, Shashikant Ambre, Sandeep Hutgi, Kiran Mane, Chetan Korgaonkar, Atul Chavan, Ganesh Chikne, Ravindra Bansode, Dipu Singh, Sanjay Devrukhkar, Anand Morajkar, Amit Kamble, Sanjay Thakur etc were present.
