Mount Abu Outrage: Elderly Man Caught Secretly Taking Woman’s Leg Photos Outside Jain Temple

Mount Abu (Rajasthan):In a shocking incident that has triggered outrage on social media, an elderly man was caught secretly taking inappropriate photos of a woman outside the famed Dilwara Jain Temple in Mount Abu. The woman, who was seated nearby in a short dress, noticed the man behaving suspiciously and bravely confronted him, demanding to see his phone.
The disturbing incident unfolded when the woman, sensing something unusual, asked the man to show his phone gallery. Upon checking, she discovered several pictures of her legs, which he had secretly captured without her consent. The photos did not include her face but were clearly focused on her legs while she was sitting in front of him.
Confronting the man in public, the woman can be heard in a viral video saying:
“Uncle ye kya hai? Kya kar rahe ho aap? Kyu le rahe ho mere pairon ke pictures?”
(“Uncle, what is this? What are you doing? Why are you taking my leg pictures?”)
She further accused him of staring at her in an inappropriate manner and making her feel uncomfortable. The man, upon being caught, promptly deleted the photos from his gallery. However, it remains unclear whether they were permanently removed or saved elsewhere via cloud or backup services.
The woman did not hold back her anger, calling out the man for his shameless behavior near a place of worship.
“Aren’t you ashamed? You are sitting near a temple and clicking my pictures,” she said.
Despite deleting the images in front of her, the man later denied taking any photos, which further infuriated the woman. The entire confrontation was recorded on video by the woman and has since gone viral across social media platforms, drawing widespread condemnation of the man’s actions.
Users across platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram have begun tagging Rajasthan Police and local tourism authorities, demanding strict action against the individual under laws protecting privacy and dignity, especially in public spaces.
Legal experts suggest that the act could fall under sections of the Information Technology Act and IPC Section 354C (voyeurism), which penalize the act of capturing images of women without consent.
As of now, no official complaint has been reported, but public pressure is mounting for authorities to identify and take action against the accused.
This incident has reignited conversations around women's safety in public places and the need for stricter digital privacy enforcement.
