MU to Introduce Integrated BMS-MMS Program for Aspiring Management Students

Mumbai, Maharashtra: The University of Mumbai (MU) has announced the launch of a five-year integrated Bachelor of Management Studies and Master of Management Studies (BMS-MMS) program, set to begin in the 2025-26 academic year. This new initiative will allow students to secure direct admission to the program after completing Class 12, streamlining the path to a career in management.
The program will consist of a three-year BMS degree followed by a two-year MMS degree, providing a focused route to management expertise. According to Professor Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor of MU, this initiative aims to simplify postgraduate admissions and reduce uncertainty for students.
The integrated program will offer a one-entry, one-exit option and provisions for lateral entry into the MMS program for eligible students. The university will conduct an entrance examination for admission after Class 12. In addition, engineering graduates who meet certain prerequisites will be eligible for lateral entry into the second year of the MMS program.
To ensure employability, the program will emphasize on-the-job training (OJT) and internships, with specific guidelines for internships between the first and second MMS years. The university also announced plans to offer twinning, dual degree, and joint degree programs from next academic year, further enhancing interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
This innovative step is designed to provide more flexibility and direct career advancement for students pursuing management studies.
