Mumbai : BMC To Conduct Tree Trimming Drive In Kandivali From April 21–26; Residents Asked To Avoid Parking On Scheduled Roads

Mumbai : In a bid to ensure public safety and enhance the city's greenery, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a tree trimming drive in the R/South Ward, which will cover both Kandivali East and West. The drive is scheduled to take place from April 21 to April 26, 2025.

To facilitate smooth operations, BMC has urged residents to cooperate by avoiding parking their vehicles on the designated roads during the six-day drive. Vehicles parked on these roads can obstruct the trimming process and cause delays in completing the necessary work.

An official post shared by the BMC on X (formerly Twitter) read, "Tree trimming drive in R/South Ward (Kandivali East & West) from 21st to 26th April 2025. Please avoid parking on scheduled roads to help maintain cleanliness & safety. Your cooperation is appreciated."

The BMC has also issued a detailed timetable specifying the roads where tree trimming will be carried out during the drive. The scheduled roads for trimming in Kandivali West include:

  • Trikamdas Road

  • Shantilal Modi Road

In Kandivali East, tree trimming will take place on the following roads:

  • Corporation Bank Road

  • Suffire Height Road

  • Thakur Stadium Road

  • Thakur Village

The BMC has advised all residents and motorists to avoid parking their vehicles on these roads during the scheduled period. Parking on these roads could hinder the trimming work and increase the risk of accidents for both workers and vehicles.

Tree trimming is a crucial pre-monsoon maintenance measure aimed at preventing accidents caused by overhanging branches or overgrown trees, which can obstruct visibility or damage power lines. The initiative will not only improve safety but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the locality.

This year, the BMC is also making an effort to share the tree trimming schedule in advance. The detailed schedule will be displayed at all ward offices and posted on the corporation's official social media platforms starting from April 21.

Tree trimming is an essential measure to minimize the risks posed by weak branches, especially during the heavy rains of the monsoon season. The BMC’s drive is part of the city’s ongoing effort to ensure a safer and cleaner environment for its residents.

The BMC has asked all citizens to remain informed and cooperate during this essential operation.
