Mumbai Central Bus Stand Set for Major Makeover with ₹1.64 Cr Concretisation

Mumbai, Maharashtra: Mumbai Central Bus Stand is gearing up for a major revamp with a ₹1.64 crore concretisation project aimed at addressing persistent issues such as potholes, waterlogging, and dust. The work, set to commence on December 23, will involve the complete concreting of 1,900 square meters in the station area. Once complete, commuters will experience a smoother, safer, and more comfortable travel experience.
During the two-month construction period, all buses except those from the Mumbai Central depot will temporarily shift to alternative stations at Parel, Dadar, and Kurla Nehru Nagar. The relocation plan will impact 155 bus routes daily, ensuring minimal disruption while work continues.
This concretisation effort is part of a larger ₹600 crore initiative by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to overhaul 183 ST depots across the state. The transformation at Mumbai Central is expected to eliminate long-standing issues like potholes and waterlogging, significantly improving bus operations for passengers in the future.
