Mumbai, India :  A Mumbai man has set an unprecedented record by topping Swiggy’s list of highest bill payers, spending a massive Rs 3 lakh on a single order. This was revealed as part of Swiggy’s 2024 annual data, which sheds light on India’s evolving food trends and remarkable eating habits.

The Swiggy report reveals the growing love for food indulgences, from Bengaluru's extravagant Rs 49,900 pasta binge to Delhi’s devotion to Chole Bhature. Biryani remains the nation's favourite dish, with 83 million orders in 2024, while dosa secured its spot as a breakfast staple, with 23 million orders. Fast deliveries also made waves, with Rasmalai and Sitaphal ice cream arriving in under 10 minutes.

Among other unique trends, a Delhi customer made a record-breaking order of 250 onion pizzas, and another managed to save Rs 1.22 lakh on a single purchase. Chicken rolls and late-night chicken burgers were huge hits, while cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Chandigarh showcased distinct culinary preferences, ranging from Chole Bhature to Kachoris and Aloo Paranthas. Bengaluru stood out for its alcohol deliveries and romantic dining experiences.

Swiggy's delivery partners, covering an incredible 1.96 billion kilometres, kept pace with this demand, with top performers like Kapil Kumar Pandey from Mumbai completing over 10,700 deliveries.
