Mumbai Metro 3 to Reach Worli by April 10, Boosting City Connectivity

Mumbai, India: The city's first underground metro, Metro 3 (Aqua Line), is set to extend its services to Worli by April 10, offering seamless travel from Aarey to Acharya Atre Chowk. This expansion aligns with the Maharashtra government’s 100-day plan, announced by CM Devendra Fadnavis.
The new 22-km underground corridor will include six additional stations, easing congestion along Lady Jamshedji Road and Dr Annie Besant Road while enhancing access to key business hubs like SEEPZ, BKC, and Worli. The route will also improve connectivity to major religious landmarks, including Siddhivinayak Temple and St. Michael’s Church.
Metro 3’s second phase has already received RDSO approval, with final safety clearances underway. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) is expected to inspect the stretch by the end of March before the official launch.
Since its launch, Metro 3’s first phase has recorded 26.6 lakh riders across 29,162 trips, with the entire corridor to Cuffe Parade expected to be operational by July 2025. Commuters eagerly anticipate reduced congestion and faster travel across Mumbai’s business and residential districts.
