Mumbai Monsoon 2025: Tree Branches Disrupt Western Railway Slow Line Near Parel Station

Mumbai, May 26: Suburban train services on the Western Railway's slow line faced a brief disruption on Monday morning after tree branches fell onto the tracks near Parel station, causing delays during the busy monsoon commute.

The incident occurred around 11:30 am, leading to delays in several local services. A spokesperson for Western Railway (WR) confirmed that the fallen branches were promptly removed, and the obstruction was cleared by 11:59 am.“Only some slow line services were affected due to the fallen branches. The track was cleared swiftly, and normal services resumed shortly after,” said the WR official.

Operations were restored within the next 30 minutes, and by noon, all affected services had resumed.

This minor disruption highlights the seasonal challenges faced by Mumbai's rail network during the monsoon, though timely response from maintenance crews ensured minimal inconvenience to commuters.

As of now, train services on the Western Railway are running smoothly, confirmed WR officials.
