Mumbai Railways to Run Over 1,200 Summer Special Trains from April 1

Mumbai, India: To accommodate the surge in travel demand during the summer vacation, Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) will operate over 1,200 summer special trains from April 1. WR has announced 930 trains, while CR will run 356 trains to various destinations.

Western Railway has notified 29 pairs of summer special trains covering Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Telangana, and Karnataka. Special trains are also planned for Gujarat, with departures from Ahmedabad, Gandhidham, Vadodara, Valsad, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar. Over 300 additional general second-class coaches have been added to accommodate migrant workers.

Central Railway will operate 356 summer special trains, covering routes between Mumbai-Nagpur, Mumbai-Karmali (Goa), Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram, Pune-Nagpur, Daund-Kalaburagi, and Mumbai-Nanded. This includes bi-weekly, weekly, and unreserved special trains to ease passenger congestion.
